Podcast Producer · Community Journalist · Content Strategist
30 years in media. The last 10 building something of my own.Built for community. Available everywhere.
Let's work together
I'm Nick Parker — a podcast producer, community journalist, and content strategist with 30 years of media and marketing behind me and a decade of independent publishing under my own roof.
Fredrick Reed LLC is named for my father, Fredrick Reed, who died young but instilled in me two things that have shaped everything I do: a love of creativity and a pull toward community. The name is a little bit clever and a little bit personal — which is probably a fair description of how I like to work.
For ten years, I've run Link 2 Lee's Summit — a hyperlocal digital newspaper reaching nearly 5,000 readers and listeners weekly. Through Fredcasts, I've produced more than 1,500 podcast episodes — including original audio plays and sponsored content series — and helped organizations find their voice through consistent, credible storytelling.
I know how to make every dollar and every word count. That's what I bring to outside projects now.
Editorial direction, content planning, and voice development for organizations that need a seasoned media mind without a full-time hire.
Mission-driven storytelling for nonprofits, civic organizations, and community initiatives. Credibility-first, always.
End-to-end episode production — recording strategy, editing, show notes, chapter markers, YouTube descriptions, and distribution. 1,500+ episodes of real experience.
Weekly newsletter production, audience growth, and content planning for organizations that want consistent, readable communication.
Advertorial series and community-integrated content that reads like editorial — because it is. FTC-compliant and reader-trusted.
High school and professional sports reporting, game recaps, athlete features, and SEO-ready sports content for local and regional outlets.
Nearly 900 episodes covering civic life, community voices, and local news in Lee's Summit, Missouri. The longest-running hyperlocal podcast in the KC metro.
Conversations at the intersection of media, community, and the evolving news landscape. Guests from across the journalism world.
A podcast exploring what drives people to compete, lead, and push through adversity. Produced through the Fredcasts network.
Culture, craft beer, and genuine conversation with guests from across the U.S., Canada, and the UK. Co-hosted with Nigel Woodberry.

Produced and edited by Nick Parker in partnership with Summit Theatre Group and the Rotary Club of Lee's Summit as part of Rotary International's End Polio Now! campaign.

"My father instilled in me two things: a love of creativity and a pull toward community. Those aren't bad qualities for a journalist."
Fredrick Reed didn't live long enough to see what I built — but I like to think he'd recognize the instincts behind it. He had a gift for connecting with people and a genuine curiosity about the world around him.
Fredrick Reed LLC is a production and content company in the most practical sense. But it's also a quiet tribute — a way of doing work that he would have found worth doing.
Whether you need a podcast producer, an editorial partner, or a content strategist who's built something real from scratch — I'd like to hear what you're working on.
